MAFLA Proficiency Academy, 2023
Proficiency Academy is back at Westfield State Univeristy for 2023. Come join us to learn about teaching for proficiency and advance your skills in proficiency-based instruction. Our 4-day academy is an immersive and collaborative learning experience. We offer two strands to meet your needs:
1) Foundations of Proficiency, led by Rebecca Blouwolff
2) Principles of Proficiency: Bringing Your Curriculum to Life in the Language Classroom: Designing Learning Experiences Focused on Growth, led by Leslie Grahn.
Each strand includes high-quality workshops and facilitated break-out sessions where you can collaborate with colleagues to develop your own proficiency-based material to bring back to your district.
MEALS & HOUSING:
You may choose to stay in the Westfield State dorms for an additional fee (check in Monday morning and check out Thursday afternoon).
Those residing in the dorms will have all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) included. Those commuting will have all lunches included.
